Tarek’s fascination with design began as a child, expressed through the intricate drawings that filled his sketchbooks. His passion for art and space led him to the University of North Carolina Charlotte, where he pursued a degree in Architecture. During his studies, Tarek discovered another form of design that captured his heart: landscape lighting. The marriage of architecture and lighting was a natural fit, and thus Lumen Landscape Lighting was born — right while he was still in school. As the company flourished, Tarek’s father joined the venture, turning Tarek’s dream into a true family affair.
Nasser Kaouk
Owner and Field Manager
Nasser’s journey is one of ambition and hard work. Arriving in America at a young age with dreams of becoming a pilot, life had different, equally rewarding plans. Instead, Nasser dedicated himself to a successful career at Daimler, where for over 35 years he honed his skills in system optimization and problem-solving. His time at Daimler encompassed much more than simply a job; it symbolized his unwavering dedication towards crafting top-notch trucks and catering to the needs of customers. Family support always remained his utmost priority throughout this journey. After retiring, Nasser saw the opportunity for a second chapter in his professional life – joining his son, Tarek, at Lumen Landscape Lighting. With his extensive experience, Nasser brought a level of operational excellence that has helped propel the company to new heights.
